There are also two advanced playback options for controlling message counts that are of primary interest to Unified Messaging and Virtual Fax service users.
Select verbose or brief message playback mode
| If you set brief mode, UniBears does not play the number of new or saved messages, does not play your name and does not play your mailbox status when you first log in, and does not play message envelope information (including the date and time received) when you listen to messages. |
- Access your mailbox, press 5 to
enter the Manage Personal Options menu, and press 5 to manage Administrative options.
- To set your playback options,

- To set the message playback
mode, press 1.
- For verbose mode, press 1, or
for brief mode, press 2.
In verbose mode, typically
recommended for the
inexperienced user or the user
who doesn’t use the telephone
interface as often, you receive
more spoken prompts from the
system.
In brief mode, recommended
for the user experienced with
the telephone interface, you
receive less prompting from
the system.

Change message play order by time of message
- Access your mailbox, press 5 to enter
the Manage Personal Options menu,
and press 5 to manage Administrative
options.
- To set your playback options press 4.
- To sort your messages by time press 2.
- For oldest first press 1, or for newest
first, press 2.
Change playing high priority messages first
| This option sets the order messages are presented in and turns on the announcement of high priority messages. If a caller sets a high priority, the person called will not know that the message has a high priority unless the person called has turned on this option. |

Change playing your name and status when you log into your mailbox
- Access your mailbox, press 5
to enter the Manage Personal Options menu, and press 5 to
manage Administrative Options.
- To hear playback options, press 4.
- To play the your mailbox greeting, press 4.
- To activate, press 1, or to deactivate, press 2.

Change playing of your name and status for your callers
- Access your mailbox, press 5 to
enter the Manage Personal
Options menu, and press 5 to
manage Administrative options.

- To play the current status
greeting, press 5.
- To activate, press 1, or to
deactivate, press 2.

Change automatic playing of new messages for hands-free listening
- Access your mailbox, press 5 to
enter the Manage Personal
Options menu, and press 5 to
manage Administrative options.
- To set your playback options,
press 4.
- To play the new messages automatically, press 8.
- To activate, press 1, or to
deactivate, press 2.
With hands-free listening turned on, the system reads each message and then saves it automatically, without requiring any key presses. Any keys pressed during message playback are ignored.
