Your Status
Your status is a component of the Name and Status Greeting. When a caller reaches the UniBears system, they hear your greetings (if activated) in the following order: name and status greeting, recorded greeting and custom greeting; then they will hear "please leave a message after the tone". If your service allows you to set rules via the web, your Status can also be used as a condition to determine how incoming calls are handled.
New voicemail boxes are set up with the Name and Status Greeting activated. If your status is "available", the caller does not hear any status. The caller will hear your name and any optional greetings. For this reason, if you use another type of greeting you may want to turn-off the Name and Status Greeting.
One of several predefined status messages can be selected to be played to a caller by setting the "user status". The status message is read by the system using a text-to-speech engine.
Changing Your Status
Announcement, Voicemail-Basic and Voicemail-Plus users that do not have UniBears web access may only change their status via the phone.
If you are a Voicemail-Enhanced or Unified-Messaging user you can change your
status via the phone or via
the web.
Via the phone:
- Access your mailbox and press
5 to enter the Manage
Personal Options menu.
- Press 1 to set your status.
- Press the number that corresponds with your status.
- Where applicable, enter date or time. Enter time in military format. For example, 0630, 1015 or 1407 for 6:30am, 10:15am or 2:07pm.
Some statuses let you specify an
return date, time, or date and time.
| Setting the until return date or time only defines what is read to the caller. It does not reset your status when the specified return date or time is reached. |
The following
table lists the status number, name and
whether or not you can configure the
date, time, or both for each status:
| Status | Date | Time |
| 1 - Available | | |
