UniBears Announcements The following was sent as an email to owners of guest mailboxes and the Access Rights Administrators on 08/12/2005 Dear CNS Customers: Please forward to all guest mailbox owners. Your guest mailboxes will be deleted if you do not take action. If you do not know what a guest mailbox is, or do not wish to keep your guest mailboxes, you may disregard this message. Or you can read more about guest mailboxes, including how to delete them, at http://cns-cs.berkeley.edu/voicemail/#a4 With the introduction of the new voicemail system this fall, action is required on the part of departments to retain guest mail boxes or they will be deleted. On the old voicemail system, subscribers were able to create their own guest mail boxes. The new system requires the CNS System Administrator to create these boxes, which will now be called Extension Mailboxes. The prices for these will depend on the type of voicemail services to which the extension is attached.
You have received this email because your name is associated with the voicemail box which has a guest mailbox, or because you are the Access Rights Administrator (ARA) and someone in your department who has a guest mailbox. If you no longer have this phone number, we suggest you encourage your ARA to correct the voicemail name associations at https://sagebrush.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/ws515/useri-chg.r CNS does not want departments to pay for services they are not using. We realize that not all current guest mail boxes are being used or needed by departments. We are therefore asking for your help to eliminate all unnecessary or unused guest mail boxes before we roll out the new system in the fall. We have identified those phone numbers which have guest mailboxes. Please review the ones in your department. http://unibears.berkeley.edu/guest-mailbox-info-2005-0628.xls If you want to convert your guest mailboxes to extension mailboxes, you must send an email to ccu@socrates.berkeley.edu with the following information by September 15, 2005. We will update your records accordingly before we cut over to the new voicemail system. All new extension mail boxes will be charged to the chart-of-account string of the primary phone number. If we do not hear from you by the above mentioned date, your guest mailbox(es) will be deleted at system cutover. To make changes and updates, please send us phone number with guest box (now extension) and name that should be on the ext. mailbox. If you have any questions completing this, please call us at 642-8080. Thank you. Customer Service Unit CNS Questions? We'd love to hear from you! Submit your question here |
